Step 2 - Confined Water Dives

Step 2 - Confined Water Dives

Develop and practice scuba skills in the pool under direct instructor supervision. As you learn new skills, you’ll build the abilities and confidence needed for diving in open water (ocean/lakes/quarrys).

Step 3 - Open
Water Dives

Get ready to experience everything you have learned with the freedom of open water. As soon as your open water training dives are approved by your instructor you will be a certified OW Diver.

Requirements

  • Minimum age is 10 (for ages 10-11 call for details); Medical form must be satisfactorily completed

  • Swim requirements: 200-yard swim and tread/float for 10 minutes

Personal Equipment

  • Each student needs their own kit (mask, snorkel, fins); quality, fit, & comfort are important. We personally assist each student to insure fit (price & fit guarantee)

Program (8 - 12)

A quick and easy introduction into what it takes to explore the underwater world. Although this is not an Open Water certification, you'll learn all the steps it takes to be a certified diver.

Have you always wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren't quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. Scuba Shack offers this program either in a pool, off a beach or from a dive boat.

Academic

  • Go over the scuba equipment you use to dive and how easy it is to move around underwater with your gear.

  • Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater.

  • Learn key skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive.

  • Have fun swimming around and exploring.

  • Hear about becoming a certified diver through the Open Water Course.


Young Scuba Diver

Experience scuba diving under the direct supervision of a dive Pro. Take your first breaths underwater in water up to 6 ft. For children who are at least 8 years old.

A child must be 8 years old or older. Kids must be comfortable in the water, but no prior experience is necessary. Parental approval is required.

Academic

  • Experience scuba diving under the direct care and supervision of a dive Pro.

  • Take their first breaths underwater in water up to 6 feet.

  • Learn about and use scuba diving equipment made for children - not adults.

  • Have lots of fun.
